Cultural and historical heritage of Le Lavandou, witness to the influence of the region through art, literature and architecture, the villa-workshop of Théo van Rysselberghe is on the way to becoming an exceptional Art Centre. A visit bringing together past and future…

Villa Théo is the former residence of the Neo-Impressionist painter Théo Van Rysselberghe, 1862-1926.
The villa, built in 1910, is typical of early 20th century Côte d’Azur resort architecture. Various artists and writersAndré Gide, Matisse, Jean Cocteau – stayed here, where they enjoyed meeting their friend.

Renovation work will allow the villa to be opened to the public as a new arts centre. It will host different exhibitions, both permanent and temporary throughout the year.
