About

START / FINISH: Chartreuse de la Verne parking area

SIGNAGE: yellow

At the exit of the parking area, where there is an information panel on the Maures integral biological reserve, turn left towards the Chartreuse de la Verne following the track. You can observe a panoramic view of the Chartreuse, which you will reach by a track after about 700 m.

After observing the imposing building and its majestic door, whose pillars are made of Serpentine des Maures with its characteristic green colour, continue your circuit, leaving it on your left as far as a crow's foot (intersection with the crest track).

Continue your circuit by descending on your left by the Capelude track on the edge of which you can observe magnificent chestnut trees with strange shapes.
After a few dozen metres, you pass by the Font-Sainte fountain.

Continue in the direction of the Verne reservoir by the Capelude track. You cross the stream of the Règue du Pas du Loup; you will cross it again below the circuit, where it feeds the Verne reservoir during floods. Continue to the arrow post Capelude 2.

At this point, leave the Capelude track on the right for a path in the undergrowth which leads you to the Verne reservoir via the Argentière valley. This path is lined with vegetation characteristic of the Maures massif (arbutus, heather, cork oak). After about 1 km, you will see on your left superb restanques, vestiges of past human activity, before arriving on the Verne track which runs alongside the reservoir of the same name.

Continue your circuit on your left along the Verne reservoir (passage of the valley of the Règue du Pas du Loup)
You pass a gate and arrive at an intersection with the Capelude track on your left. A few metres after this intersection, take on your left a rather stony and sloping path which allows you to join the Capelude track through a pleasant shaded undergrowth (about 2 km).
At the end of the latter, you pass under a grove of eucalyptus trees with its characteristic smell.
You then arrive on the Capelude track and just have to follow it on your right towards the Chartreuse to reach your starting area.
